NEW EPISODE: METAL PART I

In METAL PART I, Batman has breached the barrier between our world and the Dark Multiverse, and then disappeared. In through the breach storm the Dark Knights, twisted versions of Batman hell-bent on revenge. What is this Dark Multiverse? Who are these Batmen? How can they be stopped?

The answers lie in the exceptionally rare forms of Metal that the Dark Knights seek, Metal which must be found and returned before our world melts into the Darkness.

SJ'S TAKE: "Metal reveals the Dark Multiverse - terrifying alternative universes where Batman has fallen to evil. If you thought Owlman of the Crime Syndicate was scary, you better prepare yourself for the Batman Who Laughs. The Metal comics are such a trip. We’ve had a lot of fun bringing this crazy, dark, complex story arc to life in DCUO." - SJ Mueller, DC Universe Online Creative Director

NEW EPISODE: METAL PART II

In METAL PART II, the saga of the Dark Knights, the Dark Multiverse, and Metal will come to an explosive conclusion. The Bat-God Barbatos has waited since the dawn of the universe for this moment, and it seems nothing can stand in his way.

LEAH'S TAKE: "When we were just starting on the idea to bring Metal to the game, we knew the size and complexity of the cast and story would be challenging. We started testing the waters with looks from the comics - The Red Death and The Drowned - releasing those styles. The reaction was so overwhelming we knew we had to figure out how to bring the story into an episode. The way we figured it out? Not one Episode, but two! Doing the story right meant taking the time, and the team really stepped up and made it their own. We knew we were onto something good!" - Leah Bowers, DC Universe Online Executive Producer

THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT METAL PART II:

In terms of speculating of what may be announced today, being between a Batman focused Episode possibly to tie-in with Batman: Hush or the Joker movies for the Batman 80th, or Teen Titans or Amazonian inspired Episode, we did not foresee such a seismic Batman related event such as Metal to come directly into DCUO, with quite a massive and epic storyline! We merely had inklings of it in our lore with the addition of Artifacts and Artifact Feats in the past few years. With prior Dark Knights gear sets and full emblems having been released previously, with The Red Death and The Drowned, there are only five Dark Knights left to adapt into gear sets that we can think of, being The Batman Who Laughs, Dawnbreaker, Devastator, Merciless, Murder Machine or even Barbatos. If the recent DCUO Episode Leak Update: Donna Troy + Troia Gear does happen to have any relation to Metal Part I or Part II, there may be a high chance of seeing the Merciless square off with the Amazonian heroines, unless if it is meant for a Time Capsule or Episode set for a 2020 release.
