Preview: Atlantis Artifacts!

Today DCUO held a livestream hosted by Mepps, Avair and Batuba, previewing the 4 new Atlantis Artifacts that will be released with the launch of Atlantis, and currently on Test Server right now! Brought to life straight from the comics and having new visual effects that reflect their comic roots, these Artifacts bring a lot of variety to gameplay and work in tandem with already existing Artifacts and playstyles!

First off, everyone gets these new Artifacts once Atlantis launches on Live Server, upon their character completing the new Atlantis solo, alert and two raids for the first time, each rewarding a specific new Artifact in Event, Normal or Elite content.

Manacles of Force, ideally for Tanks or Healers, and those that use shields in general. When it’s effect is active, the golden manacles take form around your arms, absorbing the incoming damage you take and reduces your Shield cooldowns.

Dead King’s Scepter is an Artifact great for every role to utilize, empowering your Orbital Strike, while decreasing it’s cooldown along with the cooldown of Stat Buff, Combat Pet, Henchmen, and Supply Drop Trinkets by a smaller margin, summoning the Scepter in an unique animation to target your enemies when utilized alongside the Orbital Strike.

Orb of Arion is best suited for Healer role powers, increasing the effectiveness, cool down and power cost of your Priority Heals by a huge margin along with summoning a Water variant of Fury when doing so, further increasing the heals from 6 to 9 seconds depending on it’s rank.

Eye of Gemini, the last Atlantis Artifact introduced in the preview is also a very versatile, usable for every role, specifically loadouts that use a Supercharge power. Upon using a Supercharge, it provides Castor’s Watch for Tank or Healer Role, which heals group members in an Area of Effect, or Pollux’s Gaze for Damage or Controller Role, which extra damage to enemies from all players within the Area of Effect, and restores power back, while both versions also give supercharge back, so would work great together with the already existing Scrap of the Soul Cloak Artifact.
